This dataset includes Uruguay monthly information on the labor market in thousands.

Note: Due to the pandemic situation in 2020, as of March there was a change in the research methodology, going from face-to-face surveys to telephone surveys which is why the activity, employment and unemployment series were interrupted. However, we continue with the unemployment series presented by the INE, although as of March 2020 it is not strictly comparable. The information presented is from the Índice de Volumen Físico (IVF) and shows the evolution of the production of the manufacturing industry.

Through the Encuesta Industrial Mensual (EIM) directed to a statistical sample of approximately 700 companies, basic information is obtained at the level of each of the manufacturing activities carried out by them. 

The indicators that are prepared with information collected monthly measure the evolution of the activities carried out by the economic units of the private and public sectors in companies with at least 10 employed persons nationwide. The IVF has national coverage and the base year is 2018.

The division of economic activities takes into account the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC rev4) and the valuation criterion at the price of producer without including deductible taxes (VAT, COFIS, and IMESI).
